Iridian Jasmin Basoco, 26, has been charged with reckless driving on a personal watercraft, manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotic drugs, all felonies, and a misdemeanor operating a watercraft while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs. Punishable by four or up to 10 years in prison. The dangerous drug was alprazolam and the narcotic drug was oxycodone, the criminal complaint stated. Basoco was ordered to report to the Bullhead City Justice Court on October. 14 for a first appearance. She also was ordered to report before October 14th to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman to provide fingerprints. The complaint was dated Sept. 9. If she fails to appear by October. 14, a warrant may be issued for her arrest. Basoco is facing the seven charges in the July 4 accident in the designated swim area at Bullhead Chamber of Commerce located on the 1200 block of Highway 95 in Bullhead City. Basoco was operating the rental personal watercraft near the swim area when she lost control of the watercraft, which crossed over the buoy's into the swim area. Ricardo Aponte Almanza and a woman were allegedly struck by the watercraft while in the water. Then the watercraft struck two other people as they sat on the beach near the water. Almanza, 43, of Corona, California, died two days later at a Las Vegas hospital. Another man, Jose Rivas, 21, of Los Angeles was also treated and released at another Las Vegas hospital. The 34-year-old woman from Bakersfield, California and a 30-year-old man from Los Angeles were treated and released from Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City. Basoco was taken for a blood draw screening for both alcohol and a toxicology . The Bullhead City Police Department received results of the blood draw last month and forwarded those results and other reports from the investigation to the Mohave County Attorney's Office for consideration of charges. Results of the toxicology report have not been made public but did lead to the filing of the criminal complaint. no further details have been provided.
