Concept, Research and Music: Shail Vyas
5000 Years Old Music - Recreated Today
This video song is part of an ongoing research project - Songs of Mystery.
It is an independent research going on since 2011.
It is an ambitious mission to understand and recreate the journey of music in Indian subcontinent from Indus Valley to Vedic, Epic (Ramayan, Mahabharat) and later times in India.
"Mohenjo Daro: A Song of Mystery" is an artistic representation of the underlying research work and depicts rise and mysterious fall of the ancient civilization of Indus Valley. It was an era of peace, harmony and art. Its grand cities found at places like Mohenjo Daro, Dholaveera, Rakhighadi, Lothal and many more, are telling many stories, but we don't fully understand yet.
Modern instruments are used to complete the story and to examine and show the possibility of using these ancient instruments in modern context.
