The World Health Organisation's Europe region director Hans Kluge voices concern over shortening the Covid-19 quarantine periods in a press briefing. In the 53 countries that are members of WHO Europe, nearly five million cases of Covid-19 have been recorded and more than 227,000 related deaths, according to the organisation's own figures. The number of daily cases recorded is currently around 40,000 to 50,000, which can be compared to a daily peak of 43,000 on April 1, although testing in many countries have increased considerably.
