Technics SL-1200GR is the most affordable model that closely resembles the initial model that has a separate stylus light switch and dust cover hinges. The lowest priced model Technics SL-1200 MK7 does not have a separate stylus light switch. To turn on the stylus light, the actual stylus light post is to be pressed. Also, the Technics SL-1200 MK7’s dust cover has no hinges. The dust cover just needs to be placed on top of the turntable to cover the turntable and completely remove the dust cover to operate the turntable. Thus, the Technics SL-1200GR is the most affordable choice to have the classic Technics SL-1200 brand new as it appeared in the 70’s.
