Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson made history Monday, appearing before a Senate panel considering her nomination to be the first Black woman on the U.S. Supreme Court as Republicans vowed to question her respectfully but thoroughly.
Jackson’s confirmation will “give inspiration to millions of Americans who will see themselves in you,” Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin of Illinois said as he opened the hearing, which is expected to last four days.
