Here's a four minute compilation of slow motion clips filmed with Sony's RX100 Mark IV. Many thanks to Blue the dog for her endless patience and consummate professionalism Note there's no sound, so feel free to play some music of your choice.
The RX100 IV is a cracking little camera for slow motion video, starting with 1080p available at 100 fps when set to PAL or 120fps when set to NTSC; these in turn allow four and five times slowdowns on 25p and 24p timelines respectively.
Where it gets really interesting though is when you turn the mode dial to HFR for High Frame Rate recording. This offers three frame rates: 250 / 240fps, 500 / 480fps and 1000 / 960fps for PAL / NTSC regions which in turn slow-down the action on 25p / 24p timelines by 10 times, 20 times and 40 times respectively. In HFR mode you can only capture two or four seconds worth of action, depending on whether you're shooting in Quality or Shoot Time Priority, and the quality also reduces as the frame rate increases. But set to 250 / 240fps in Quality Priority, it captures at 1824x1026 pixels, which is pretty close to 1080p.
I have examples of all three HFR modes, along with several clips in the 1080 / 100p mode in my compilation here. As I'm in PAL land right now, everything was shot and interpreted to 25p for the final video, which was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. I've added the compilation to my RX100 IV review-in-progress (at the link below) which joins a bunch of other videos and sample images.
