Tirosint-sol just underwent a voluntary recall of 27 different lots for subpotency. What does this mean? It means that these lots of tirosint-sol contained less than the +/- 5% range allowed by the FDA. In this case, the doses were subpotent meaning they didn't have enough thyroid hormone one each lot.

This +/- 5% range differs from the range allowed for NDT medications with is +/- 10%.

What should you do if you are taking Tirosint-Sol? Call your pharmacy to see if your lot was affected. If it was then you can get a replacement for a lot that is potent enough for you.

Make sure you look into this because small changes in thyroid hormone can amount to large changes in your symptoms!
