Normally when actors do their job they can act on something. In live-action, it’s their environment, fellow actors, props, environment, there is something to act on. In the recording booth of an animated film, the actors will normally have character art or even clips to put them in a scene. For the filming of ‘Abominable’, the young actors didn’t have that, they only had their imagination and direction of Writer/Director Jill Culton.
In the above interview go into the recording booth of ‘Abominable’ with the actors as they talk about what it was like to record. Chloe Bennet goes into the imagination of being in the scene and how part of it is relieving, while Tenzing Norgay Trainor and Albert Tsai discuss the difference between Live action and animated as well as which they prefer.
