Ronald Reiser was convicted of shooting Victor Romero and causing serious bodily injury and paralysis. Reiser appealed, saying he was wrongly convicted because he acted in self-defense, but the court rejected this defense. Reiser also tried to bring up a specific incident to show that Romero was violent, but the court decided that this evidence was not admissible.
