Lots of parents ask me how they can help their child when they feel overwhelmed at drop off for childcare/preschool/school.
After you have cuddled them and reassured them and now it’s time to go to their Carer at the centre I encourage having an activity ready to go, perhaps they can sit on the carer’s lap or with another child and use the VISUAL to show what is happening now and what is happening next.
VISUALS are constant, clear, comforting
I love using these and teaching other people how to use visuals to make your transitions smoother for your child.
Leave a comment or ask a question and I’ll do a short video for that answer
