This short clip is from Episode 38 of the Late Night History podcast hosted by writer and historian Matt Fratus. Ret. Sgt. Maj. Mike Vining successfully completed the very first Delta Force selection course — known as OTC-1 — and went on to have a successful career at The Unit. But before he went to Delta, he served with the 99th Ordnance Detachment as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. He deployed to Vietnam and participated in the destruction of the Rock Island East and Warehouse Hill enemy weapons and ammunition caches in Cambodia. Warehouse Hill involved performing similar duties of the so-called Tunnel Rats who crawled into narrow tunnels armed only with flashlights and hand guns.
