FASTENERS is about connecting anything and everything related to fashion, from street culture to music and photography. FASTENERS is about discovering young upcoming South African designers, their work, inspirations, ambitions, their lives and showcasing local designers as well as anyone else in the local industry from stylists, bloggers, fashion editors, buyers, trend makers, providing each of them with an exciting opportunity to market their product/s.
The shows presenters – Summer-Rose and Calvin Axe will be taking you on a tour of all the latest fashion shows and events, pop-up shows and stores, showing you all the hottest and coolest trends in the local fashion and street culture scene.
Local fashion has been growing exponentially, especially over the last few years…with fresh brands coming up on a daily and making a serious mark on the streets as well as high end fashion ramps.
Blacknation was inspired by the overwhelming talent that is our local fashion scene, and the fact that there aren’t enough platforms that celebrate what fashion is really about…expression, passion and freedom.
Another opportunity that FASTENERS present is allowing people to own their right to freedom of expression and using it to express their opinions, values, ideals and innermost feelings through personal style.
Fashion is alive in Africa, and it’s about time the world sees what we as young black Africans are all about. FASTENERS, it’s about time the rest of the world sees us and what we are all about and FASTENERS is going to show them!
