The question was put to me at the #CoFoE inaugural event in Strasbourg: What can we do to promote a real European culture 🇪🇺?
For me, culture is the most solid basis of the European Union.
Arts, culture, education, youth… They are alive, in Europe. They touch our emotions, as Europeans. Culture needs to be at the heart of our project.
How? That is one topic of discussion in the Conference on the Future of Europe.
Why not put real European monuments, the Notre Dame or the Ponte Vecchio, on our banknotes, instead of the imaginary bridges we have now ? Why not use the European flag, as well as the national flag, when our athletes go to the Olympics ?
