Coastal500 is a global network of public leaders to strengthen the sustainable management of artisanal fisheries around the world. In Brazil, mayors engage in this collaborative network that has the support of the Secretary of the Environment and Sustainability of the State of Pará (SEMAS) to increasingly leverage the shared management of fisheries in coastal municipalities and their territories. The integration of efforts between civil society and public management at the federal, state and municipal levels is essential for advancing fisheries reform in Brazil.
