Whether you realize it or not, you're susceptible to email phishing scams. So how can you prevent phishing attacks and avoid these email threats?
Your best bet is to increase your awareness and be prepared. That's where the S.T.O.P. method comes in. When you receive an email, you should ask your self these questions.
Is this email...
* Suspicious?
* Telling me to click a link or a button?
* Offering something that's too good to be true?
* Pushing me to do something urgently?
If the answer to any of these questions is "yes"...STOP! There's a chance that you're the recipient of a phishing email attack.
So what can you do if you suspect that the email is a fraud and your online security is in jeopardy?
Simple: use a different method or mode of communication to confirm the veracity of the email.
