Illegal Gold Mining Raid in Bolivia Sees Boats Burned, 57 Arrested
Dredger boats allegedly used to illegally extract gold were burnt down on Friday in northern Bolivia in a bid to halt wildcat mining in the Amazon.
The police and army conducted a six-day operation that ended on Friday with the arrest of 57 suspects for participating in alleged illegal gold mining activities and the seizure of 27 dredger boats.
