Many Thanksgiving tables across Indiana will be filled tomorrow with savory dishes and sweet desserts. But food insecurity is still a challenge in the state.
This summer, during their county fairs, Indiana 4-H members collected items for the "Fight the Hunger, Stock the Trailer" competition. Results were announced recently, and Jackson County won.
The 4-H Goat Club led the charge to collect nearly six tons of food at the Jackson County Fair. At the end of fair week, 4-H members and leaders delivered the items to food pantries and ministries across the county.
The competition was supported by @FarmCreditMidAmerica and @rural1st478. They're committed to rural America's success and provided prizes for the winners and participants of "Fight the Hunger, Stock the Trailer."
