A number of years ago, the only threat, the only substance of thread a doctor faced was getting sued in a traditional court. Fast Forward to today, the number of threats have multiplied. Now doctors still need to be concerned about being sued in a court, but they also need to be worried about being sued in a small claims court.They need to be worried about complaints filed against them with the Medical board, and they need to be worried about HIPAA, and complaints filed with the Department of Health and Human Services, they need to be concerned about the FTC, they need to be concerned about the FCC, and then there are threats were patients send a note or send a letter to the doctor saying that if they don't get a refund or free surgery, there going to slam the doctor on the internet, or there going to file a particular complaint with this particular organization.
