Syrian President Bashar Assad's forces have recaptured all areas in and around Damascus from armed rebels, who used to lob mortar shells at the capital from surrounding suburbs.
Palm Sunday falls on the Sunday before Easter and celebrates Jesus Christ's entry into Jerusalem ahead of his crucifixion.
