Yale College Class Day began in the 19th century, when graduates gathered in a circle on Old Campus to share memories of their time at Yale. Today, the ceremony includes reflections from members of the graduating class, an address by a prominent speaker, and many other longstanding traditions. The 2021 program, delivered virtually, features the Class Day address by Robert Lopez, Yale College Class of 1997; remarks from the senior class officers, Bryan Lu Owens and Curtis Colvett; speeches by graduating students Vy Tran, Alec Zbornak, and Matt Nadel and Teava Torres de Sa; a performance of the Yale College alma mater, “Bright College Years,” by the Yale Glee Club; and the Class History, a look back at the Class of 2021’s four years at Yale. Class Day 2021 was produced under the creative direction of the Class Day Committee: Stanley Lam, Jin Li, Steven Orientale, Akhil Rajan, and Skye Ward, all members of the Class of 2021.
