Meredith College held its commencement exercises for the Class of 2019 on Saturday, May 11, at 8 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum. The commencement address was given by President Jo Allen, ’80. Graduates were represented by two student speakers. Whitney DesChamps, who received her MBA, spoke on behalf of the master’s candidates. Senior Class President Hannah Kicklighter spoke on behalf of the undergraduates.
Approximately 475 graduates received their degrees during the ceremony. Meredith 2019 graduates have accepted positions with companies and organizations including Avexis, North Carolina Opera, AllScripts, Air Force Reserves, Walt Disney Company, Naval Air Systems Command, SAS Institute, Credit Suisse, Red Hat, Black & Veatch, Autism Society of North Carolina, North Carolina General Assembly, Blue Cross Blue Shield NC, Enterprise, Clean, Personify, Cherry Bekaert LLP, Fidelity Investments, Thales Academy, Shakespeare Theatre Company, City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources, and MetLife Global Technology & Operations.
Others will pursue graduate study at universities including the Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, UNC-Chapel Hill, Liberty University, Campbell Law, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine Medical School, Meredith College Graduate Programs, and a Fulbright Grant to study in Mexico.
