I have no interest in hanging from cranes nor do I feel the need to take selfies when I climb.
This climb is my 20th and for the first time ever, I climbed the vertical jib. The second I didn't feel comfortable about going any further, I stopped, took photos and just came down. I reached about 3/4 of the way up and I really couldn't care less about reaching the top. I'm not competing against anyone and I don't care if I'm not hardcore like many of the guys on YouTube.
There seems to be so much BS about climbing cranes lately. From what I've heard, people are just climbing for Instagram selfies. Sure... they've probably been doing it for awhile but it seems like way more people are doing it for the wrong reasons. The higher the risk, esp stunts like hanging, the more likes and popularity.
Maybe I sound hypocritical with the way I say this and what I do but yeah if you're gonna climb a crane, do it safely. Even if that does sounds goody two shoes.
There's a heap of us who climb cranes because we love it, it makes us feel alive and best of all, the views from above are mind-blowing. Few get to see that and we get to share it. Photography like climbing, is our life.
Anyways with all that said, it was a perfect morning for climbing. Enjoy the pics from my 20th climb.
