It is one of the main ports of call for buying something online - but Google has been fined a record 2 billion pounds for giving its own shopping service an illegal advantage by putting it at the top of search results.

The European competition watchdog says rival services were deliberately given less prominence, and that denied shoppers a genuine choice. Google says it disagrees, and is considering an appeal.
