Controlling string algae is actually pretty easy, but it's a question we get all the time. String algae (aka carpet algae and blanket algae) should be removed by hand as much as possible. Then you want to use a clean bucket to draw some pond water to use for a slurry. Mix in the recommended amount of Aquascapes SAB Stream & Pond Clean -- which contains pure strains of concentrated beneficial bacteria & enzymes. Once mixed well, simply pour the slurry around the perimeter of your pond. We recommend a double dose weekly for the first two weeks, then a maintenance dose every two weeks for the remainder of the pond season. Easy peasy!
