Exxon Mobile (Ticker symbol XOM) was founded in 1870 and explores for and produces crude oil and natural gas in the U.S. and internationally.
Chevron Corporation (Ticker symbol CVX) was founded in 1879 and engages in integrated energy and chemical operations worldwide.
It is no secret that gasoline prices have soared this year, which was a big part of contributing to the increased inflation. Gasoline hit a high of just over $5 per gallon and has since trended downwards. These high gas prices definitely led to some gigantic profits for Exxon Mobile and Chevron. There is a lot of political pressure for oil and gas company's like XOM and CVX to reduce prices for consumers but there has been some push back. I lay out my top 3 risks for these company's and how likely these risks are to occur.
I cover cash balances, long term debt, Net income and some fundamental analysis for both Exxon Mobile and Chevron Corporation. Lets just say they are raking in the profits and look financially healthy. I also show a year to date stock performance of XOM and CVX vs the S&P500, and it is quite impressive how these 2 company's have outperformed.
I then use my metrics chart I created to compare more financials such as Earnings per share, Revenue, cashflow, dividend information and more! From this chart I choose a winner and then choose a winner of my own based on my future expectation for these company's from an investment standpoint. I will share that both company's have committed to massive share buyback programs, which benefit shareholders.
I also provide my own opinion on the gas and oil industry as a whole and its strength as a sector for investing. I mention the increase in energy alternatives like Wind Energy, Solar energy, and nuclear energy. How will these energy alternatives affect the future of the oil and gas industry, especially company's like Chevron an Exxon Mobile? I give a thorough and honest opinion that you may or may not agree with.
So after watching this video, which company between XOM and CVX would you Invest in? Do you think Exxon Mobile or Chevron will survive the "transfer" to alternative energy?
Thank you for watching and have a great day!
