The Packard Automotive Company demolition on Detroit's east side.
The Packard Automotive Plant in Detroit is a historic site with a rich legacy. Built between 1903 and 1911, it was once considered the most advanced auto production facility of its time. The plant spanned over 3.5 million square feet and was designed by the renowned architect Albert Kahn. It produced luxury cars for the Packard Motor Car Company until 1956.
In recent years, the plant has become a symbol of Detroit’s industrial decline and urban blight. Demolition efforts began in 2022, and the city aims to fully tear down the plant by the end of 2024
