It wasn’t long ago that Amsterdam wonder-boy Yoram produced one of our favourite EP’s, and he delivers yet again, with ‘In The Shade’.
The title track immediately captures the essence of the whole EP - groove-laden, melodic and rhythmically intricate; adding an almost gypsy-esque melody and scattering of twisted vocals to make its mark.
On remix duties, live act Jonas Saalbach - of Einmusika and Moodmusic fame - flirts with the darker elements of the track, bringing a sense of delightful uneasiness to the overall mood.
‘Puncture’ is a straight out, melodic bomb, balancing the EP; with sullen strings, toying and teasing over strong pads and a memorable chord progression.
Marc Poppcke, our fearless leader, focuses his remix on the melancholy mood of the emotive strings, bringing them into the light for a deeply moving version of the original.
