Our guest today, Mr. Wajahat Ali (Advocate High Court) explained about "How to Prepare The Civil Judge-Cum-Magistrate Exams?".

Main Points to ponder

1. 15th July 2020 is the final date for applying

2. Subjects for Civil Judge-Cum-Magistrate Exams are
(i) Civil Law I
(ii) Civil Law II
(iii) Criminal Law
(iv) General Law
(v) English
(vi) Urdu
(vii) General Knowledge

3. There will be tricky questions, not a simple ones. (Different portions of each question)

4. In Civil Law questions will be like "Civil practice-related or preposition based"

5. In Criminal Law questions will be more related to practice not theoretical

6. No need to join any academy, because they will be teaching you what you can easily do yourself at home or in the library.

7. Go through all bare acts... don't leave any bare act just because it is small or not important to you. go through acts. you cannot do selective study and get through this exam because the criteria are very tough now. the only way to get through is by going through everything.

8. Start from zero. Attempt Law portion first (Civil Law I, Civil Law II, Criminal Law, General Law) because you have already gone through this in LL. B. You will be able to go through these in less time because you already have studied these.

9. the Best way to attempt a Civil Law paper is "Go to court and get the format of Interim Orders, Applications, Injunctions, and last order from already decided cases. and same with Family and Guardian Courts". and practice these on your own.

10. Do the same thing for the Criminal Law paper, Go to Magisterial courts to get the format of post-arrest bails, Remand, miscellaneous applications, interim order, and final order.

11. Consult past papers. It will help you to get an idea about how to attempt the paper.

12. Go through bare acts, apply illustrations already given in bare acts, practice yourself with different prepositions. Because most questions are from illustrations or based on the same prepositions.

13. When you are in the examination hall, read the question carefully, don't assume anything just by reading the question, read it 2-3 times. Questions are not difficult mostly but a tricky ones. If you can understand the question it will be very easy for you to attempt that.

14. Collect the full syllabus first and then start. Don't waste your time.
