What's the biggest mistake you've made that ruined a friendship?

I never thought a football game would end my best friendship. We were at the biggest match of the season, our college team versus our rivals. The stadium was packed, and everyone was fired up. My buddy and I had been drinking since morning. We were trash-talking the other team when this guy in front of us turned around and told us to shut up. My friend, always the hothead, stood up and got in his face. I tried to pull him back, but he shoved me off. Next thing I knew, fists were flying. I jumped in to break it up, but somehow ended up hitting my friend instead of the other guy. Security came and kicked us all out. Outside, my friend was furious. He accused me of taking the other guy's side and said I was a traitor. I tried to explain, but he wouldn't listen. It's been months now. He won't return my calls or texts. Four years of friendship, gone over a stupid fight at a football game. I wish I could take it all back.
