The Spitfire is quite a remarkable plane when you consider how far ahead of it's time it was when it was first flown into combat. However,
before the Spitfire was a combat aircraft, it was born into a family of racers. If it is nothing else, it is a beautiful airplane with almost no vices. It
handles well at very slow speeds, yet can reach high speeds due to it's low-drag wing and fuselage.
