Filmed through a dissecting scope. Shows a strobilus of the horsetail Equisetum arvense. Spores of this fern are green and each bears four strap-shaped appendages known as elaters that move in response to changes in their water status and surrounding humidity, possibly influencing dispersal of the spores. You can see the green spores moving as their elaters curl and uncurl.
