Guests at a Florida Keys resort found a package containing 16 bricks of suspected cocaine that washed up on shore, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said. The package was turned over the US Customs and Border Protection.
There have been at least five other reported incidents of cocaine found on or near the Florida shores so far this year. That includes earlier this month when Hurricane Debby washed 25 packages of cocaine valued at more than $1-million onto a beach in the Florida Keys.
Brian Townsend, a former special agent with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), joined LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow to discuss why this is happening and what's being done to prevent it.
