The road connects the two cities Kristiansund and Molde toghetter.

Atlanterhavsvegen
Atlanterhavsvegen med sine sju broer er kjent som "vegen i havet", der den bukter seg som en sjøorm fra Kårvåg på Averøya til Vevang på fastlandet.
Det er vel ingenting som er så mektig som havet. Og det er få steder som bringer deg så nær havet og lar deg være en del av det på samme måte som Atlanterhavsvegen. En reise langs denne nasjonale turistvegen er en stor visuell opplevelse, der natur og moderne ingeniørkunst møtes og skaper en helt spesiell kjøreopplevelse.
Verdens kanskje vakreste bilreise tar deg med over sju bruer, mellom blankslipte holmer og øyformasjoner, mellom frodig kystkulturlandskap og lynghei, der du knapt kan komme tettere på natur, vind og vær enn nettopp her.

Påbegynt i 1983, ble vegen endelig åpnet i 1989 og i 2005 ble strekningen kåret til århundrets byggverk i det 20. århundre.
I tillegg til å være en viktig kommunikasjonsåre og fantastisk biltur for reisende, er Atlanterhavsvegen en særdeles godt egnet rute for sykling og vandring ute ved havet. For den som vil komme tett på naturen og dyreriket, er dette også et fantastisk område å reise rundt i. Området rundt Atlanterhavsvegen er rikt på sjøfugl og sel, og fiskeglade vil finne en rekke fine steder å fiske med stang.

The Atlantic Road
The Atlantic Road with its seven bridges is known as the "road in the sea", where it meanders like a sea serpent from Kårvåg on Averøya to Vevang on the mainland.

And right here off the Atlantic Road were the fish and the wealth. There was a strong need for better communication routes in order to strengthen trade and exports out here in the ocean gap.
