The singer’s breakout single, “how will i rest in peace if i’m buried by a highway?//,” features a lead riff that feels very ‘Unknown Pleasures’-era Joy Division in tone and melody. “I played guitar when I had never played guitar before,” the Wisconsin transplant told AltPress in regards to laying down the part. The esoteric title comes from a poem written in high school; Now it’s paving the way for career distinctions like a spot on Riot Fest’s 2021 lineup and a couple dates supporting Yungblud on the far horizon.
