Yocasti from Dominican Republic did a fantastic Palo animation in the Mäkitupa Autumn Party in Jyväskylä Finland. Some of the people had apparently taken some Cuban Rumba lessons because they were able to follow partially. Palo is the oldest Afro Latin dance. It originally comes from Dominican Republic and the roots of Palo came with the African slaves to Santo Domingo. Palo is still going strong in DR and it's a nice addition to everyones dance repertoire. DR8 Bachata Festival will have several Palo workshops, animations and shows.
