Hello everyone, here's a full route visual of the First 11a, which runs from Sheffield City Centre, Arundel Gate to Herdings Park Tram Stop via Moor Market, Highfield, Shoreham Street, Heeley, Gleadless Valley and Leighton Road.
This route is operated by First South Yorkshire out of the Olive Grove depot, using mostly double deckers (Wright Streetdecks, Wright Gemini 2s, ADL E400s), but Wright Streetlites also make an appearance. The 11a runs roughly every 15 minutes. Furthermore, between Sheffield City Centre and Herdings, the 11 (also every 15 minutes) supports the 11a to provide an every 7-8 minute combined frequency.
Before I caught the 11a last time I went to Sheffield, I assumed it was just a short version of the 11, running the same route between Sheffield and Herdings in order to provide a higher frequency on the Southern half of the route. However, I didn't realise that it actually goes almost a completely different way to the 11, apart from the fact the 11a's termini are both served by the normal 11. I think this is a nice little route!
Thanks for watching! :)
