The Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the UN, Ghulam Isaczai has asked the UN security council to call for an 'immediate cessation of violence.'

Mr. Isaczai says lives are under imminent threat as well as the freedoms of women and girls and requested the Taliban open a humanitarian path for people to safely leave Afghanistan.
