Mrs. Vijaylakshmi was struck with grief when she was diagnosed with cancer in her 34th week of pregnancy. Just weeks away from delivering her child, a lump on her abdomen put her and her unborn baby in danger.
Reluctant to allow cancer to decide their fate, she stayed strong for her child’s sake. However, because a C-Section was ruled out, she had to first give birth to her child.
Bearing great pain, she successfully had a healthy baby girl, after which she underwent surgery to have her tumor removed.
“Her case was considerably intricate as we had two lives at stake. We are glad that she was able to deliver her child, and is also cancer-free with a new ray of hope” - Dr. Vipin Goel, Consultant Oncologist at CARE Hospitals.
Mrs. Vijaylakshmi’s story is a living example of a mother’s love and the powers it has. Even against cancer, it can give us the strength of determination and perseverance.
