An acoustic recording. No microphones!
'Harry Fay' was one of the many assumed names of Henry Fahey.
I haven't been able to find out anything about him, other than that he was born in 1879.
He must have been really popular in the music halls,
as there are dozens of other 'Harry Fay' records in the 1919 catalogue.
The turntable is a Philips GA212, modified to run at 78/80 rpm instead of 33/45.
This was done by changing resistors on the motor controller PCB.
The cartridge is a Stanton 500A, with an original Stanton 3.0 78 stylus.
