Nellore puli bongaralu is a famous street food in Nellore district in Andhra pradesh. This is a tea time snack recipe. This recipe is made with Dosa batter. Fermented dosa batter will give nice taste and puffiness to the puli bongaralu. Soaked chana dal addition will give crunchy and yummy taste to the dish. This is served with ginger chutney and peanut chutney.

Ingredients:
Sour and thick #dosa batter - 2 cups
Cumin - 1/2 spn
Finely chopped #onions - 2
Finely chopped green #chillies - 2
Finely chopped #curry leaves - 1 sprig
Soaked #chana dal - 2 tbspns
#Salt - 1/2 spn
#oil for deep fry
Procedure:
1) Take Sour and thick dosa batter - 2 cups into a mixing bowl and add finely chopped onions-2, finely chopped green chillies- 2, finely chopped curry leaves-1 sprig, soaked chana dal - 2 tbspns, Salt- 1/2 spn and mix well. (Adjust the salt as per your taste)
2) Take oil into a kadai and heat to medium hot. Take small amount of batter with wet hand and drop in medium hot oil. After dropping, do not disturb for 1 min and after that fry till golden brown and crisp by flipping to all the sides and then take into a plate.
Serve with ginger chutney/red chutney
Tips:
- A day old dosa batter will give sour taste and puffiness.
- You can add cumin as well to the recipe.
- Soak chana dal for at least 2 hours before preparing the recipe.
- While grinding, please grind it to thick consistency as shown in the video.
- First fry in medium hot oil. When they become light golden brown color, increase flame to high. Fry till golden brown and then take into a tissue.
