Some breast reconstruction patients who have implants or tissue expanders behind the pectoral muscle, encounter chest wall tightness or pain, or deformity of the breast implant when they contract their chest wall muscles. With new advancements in reconstruction, FVPS is now offering conversion to implants above the muscle to resolve these concerns. Gina, an actual FVPS breast reconstruction patient, describes her experience with sub-pectoral (under the muscle) implants vs. pre-pectoral (on top of) implants. Dr. William Doubek of Fox Valley Plastic Surgery SC of Wisconsin discusses the evolution of breast construction, and who are candidates for the conversion to or placement of pre-pectoral implants.
