(23 Mar 2022) Locals in Russia-controlled Crimea have put to rest the latest high-ranking military officer to be killed in the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
Andrey Paliy, first rank captain and Deputy Commander of Russia's Black Sea Fleet headquartered in Crimea, was killed outside Mariupol on 19 March.
Paliy was born in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, but pledged his allegiance to Russia following the collapse of the USSR.
