My Hobie Lynx kayak and I have 10 tournaments under our belts now, and plenty of pre-fishing and fun fishing days in there so we are getting to know each other pretty well! Here's the big news...I am so grateful to have been invited onto the Strictly Sail & Kayak Fishing Team, and they are letting me keep using the Hobie Lynx that I have been "borrowing" for the past 2 months. Thanks to all who have supported me with the comments, views, and messages about my videos... since I don't have any tournament wins YET, it was my GirlGoneFishing channel that convinced them I would be a valuable addition to their team. So, thanks for the support, y'all! Since I now know I don't have to give it back anytime soon, I got a few new accessories at Strictly Sail & Kayak and wanted to show you guys my current rigging setup for tournament bass fishing with the Lynx since I have made a few changes since my original rigging walk-through video I filmed 2 months ago. Product names and links are below!
As always, if you have any questions or comments, please post and I will do my best to answer or direct you to the right person to answer. And just know... I LOVE the Hobie Lynx, it is the perfect kayak to take me around the Kayak Bass Fishing and Hobie BOS tournament trails next year! I'm not swayed by this Strictly Sail sponsorship to say anything nice... I truly love this little kayak! I had been looking to move from my Old Town Loon 106 sit-in paddle kayak for years, but there just wasn't a pedal kayak out there under 50 pounds that I could manage to car-top alone, and I definitely can't afford a trailer and a truck to tow it (either a truck or a trailer or both is pretty necessary for most of those big, heavy pedal yaks!). This Hobie Lynx is 47 pounds "naked" (probably 50 with the H-Rails and accessories installed), and is the most stable, agile, and comfortable kayak I have ever tried! I am just over the moon happy I get to fish from one!
Strictly Sail & Kayak has a lot of kayaks and kayak accessories (and sailboats!) in stock at their shop in Cincinnati or you can shop online!
