Yau Ma Tei Wholesale Fruit Market, formerly known as Kowloon Wholesale Fruit Market (Kowloon Wholesale Fruit Market), also often referred to as "Fruit Market", is a major fruit wholesale market in Hong Kong. It is located in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, on the north side. Waterloo Road ends at Shilong Street in the south, Ferry Street in the west, and Reclamation Street in the east.
The embryonic form of the fruit bar was built in 1913. The predecessor was a traditional market in Kowloon. The fruit bar is the common name for the fruit wholesale market in the Pearl River Delta region.
It was not until the 1920s to the 1930s that the Hong Kong government began to grant land to merchants to build fixed buildings. Many one- and two-story masonry buildings gradually formed their current appearance. Many decorations with pre-war characteristics can still be seen.
In 1990, Guolan was listed as a third-class historical building in Hong Kong by the Antiquities Advisory Committee, and was re-listed as a second-class historical building in Hong Kong on December 18, 2009. The building inside adopts the Art Deco style, which is more obvious in the design of the roof terrazzo signboard and the cantilever canopy (eyebrow) above the windows, and the signboard also uses the old three-dimensional calligraphy characters.
