Leesa Matthingly, RN, ONC shares her experience as the Breast Patient Navigator at Norton Cancer Institute providing education about next steps and treatment to patients diagnosed with cancer.
Leesa Mattingly, R.N., has been helping patients at Norton Healthcare for 23 years and has been a patient navigator for Norton Cancer Institute since 2007, specializing in breast cancer. She is an oncology-certified nurse and has experience in surgical oncology, chemotherapy infusion, interventional radiology, breast diagnostics and education. Mattingly works in the community educating women about cancer prevention, early detection and treatment, and is the facilitator for breast cancer support groups, including Young Survivors, whose members are breast cancer survivors age 40 and younger. She earned her associate degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing through Bellarmine University in Louisville.
