In 2018, ARIA and The Song Room are gave fans the chance to vote for their favourite nominee to help decide who takes home the inaugural ARIA Music Teacher Of The Year Award.
Meet the nominees for the 2018 ARIA Music Teacher of the Year Award, presented in conjunction with The Song Room and sponsored by Telstra.
The nominees are:
Becky Hall: Education Institute, Royal Childrens Hospital Melbourne (VIC)
Scott Maxwell: Grant High School, Mount Gambier (SA)
Dean Harawira: Nerang State High, Nerang, Gold Coast (QLD)
Deborah Skelton: Caladenia Primary School, Canning Vale, Perth (WA)
The Song Room is extremely proud to be co-presenting this Award with ARIA, to celebrate the exceptional influence music teachers have on our kids, setting them up for a bright future.
Creative kids are brighter kids, and this award highlights the great work done by music teachers around the country, as well as the fact that despite this, three out of four Australian children still miss out on music education in schools.
