World War II Greek 8mm Mauser ammunition is some of the most affordable military surplus ammo on the market today. But is it worth picking up? It's no surprise that this ammo is corrosive. It is brass cased and has a bi-metal jacket that is magnetic but the 198g projectiles have a lead-core. On my first attempt to shoot this ammo I used a Spanish M1943 Mauser and I had bad results. Only 2 of 5 rounds managed to fire. Even though I hadn't experienced any previous issues this this rifle I decided to try a couple other rifles with this ammo to see if it preformed any better. To my surprise this 83 year ammo shot 100% out of both a Vz.24 and a Yugoslavian M24/47 although I did experience minor feeding and extraction issues.
