How to loosen the Seiko watch band links

0:17 1. Uninstall from the band from the clasp
Uninstall one end of the buckle from the Seiko watch band with a spring bar tool.
0:29 2. Check how many excess links must be removed
Place the band along your wrist to determine how many excess links must be removed. Remember always allow the longer side to be attached to the 12 o'clock side as it will attach to the side of the micro adjustment of the clasp with the fine-tuned holes.

Check which links have arrow marks on the back side, indicating they can be removed. Place the watch band in a Bracelet Holding Block with the arrows facing down.
0:48 4. Use a push-pin tool and hammer
Use a push-pin tool and hammer to push the pin out of the link being removed. Allow the pin and collar to be released completely.

Re-assemble the Seiko watch band
1:14 6. To re-assemble the band
Flip the link back over so that this time the arrows are facing up. To re-assemble the band, make sure the holes of the separated loose links are aligned.
1:24 7. Insert the pin and collar back into the hole
First, insert the pin into the hole, next insert the collar in an upside-down direction. (Remarks: Bend the pins slightly if they go in too easily to provide tension and hold them in place.)

Use tape to hold the collar in place to prevent it from falling out.
1:48 9. Use hammer and push-pin tool once again
Put the band back into the Bracelet Holding Block, and place the push-pin tool on the end of the pin inside the band. While holding in the block, gently tap the pin with a hammer to begin seating.

Continue tapping or use a push-pin tool to fully seat the pin and collar. Should you need to direct use of a hammer, make sure you've changed to a plastic head to avoid any scratches that may be caused.
2:24 11. Fine-tune the length with micro-adjustment on the clasp
The final step is to install the band back into the clasp; you can use the micro-adjustment on the clasp to finely adjust the length if needed.
