Bank of China Tower connects to a modernized Chinese garden to the ground on a slope. The landform offers opportunities to the waterscape flowing from the top to the bottom. The triangular frameworks covered by glass curtain walls are used repeatedly in the structure of the tower as space frame while the triangular forms are imitated in the landscape master plan. The triangular forms unit with the flowing of water, becoming a visual force.
During the one minute of walking, pedestrians materialize the space mass in transformation. The space narrows down from urban to nature. Noise and view of transportation are blocked by the Chinese garden walls. Flowing waterscape reduces the noise from vehicles. Pedestrians turn their visual focus to the strong water flowing in comfort. The compositions are all positively correlated.
