Today I present a very common, abundant and striking species, which appears from spring to the end of autumn in many of our various forests, it is a toxic species.
In the video I share other things that I have found in its environment, such as the largest beetle in Europe called the Stag beetle (Lucanus cervus) and some heather flowers
Hypholoma fasciculare (Huds.) P. Kumm. 1871
Characteristics:
-Cap: Medium size between 4 and 7 cm in diameter, initially globular and later convex to finish almost flat. When it is born, the edges are glued to the stem by means of small white fibrils, and when they open fully, part of these fibrils are glued to the stem, now with a black color as can be seen in the video.
- The cuticle: Smooth and dry ocher yellow with a reddish central part
-Gills: Tight, thin, adnatas of sulfur color that as it ages turns to olive color
- Stem: Cylindrical, hollow, curved, yellow like the cap, but at the base of the stem it has a slight reddish brown hue. It is fibrous with small ocher colored fibers.
- Flesh: Yellow in color and very bitter taste
-Edibility: Toxic
-Habitat: Saprophyte, grows forming a group of corsages on stumps and various decomposing trees. Those of the video in beech and decomposing pine
- Season: Mainly from spring to late autumn depending on environmental conditions.
-Place: Lekeitio - Bizkaia
Confusions: Although it is difficult, it is often confused with the poplar mushroom, Cyclocybe cylindracea or Agrocybe cylindracea, and with other Hypolomas such as the larger H. sublateritium, with a bitter taste, more reddish color and white flesh, and the more colored H. capnoides. orange yellow, white and sweet flesh.
I hope you liked the video of this species, and for that I thank you for the visit and the support of the channel.
Greetings and see you next
